Located in the Sierra Mountains in California, the Minarets are incredibly unique and destinctive. They became a reminder for me that no two mountains are alike. While that sounds obvious, it's something that's easy to take for granted. When I first encountered the Minaret mountains, I was at a crossroads in my life. I was deciding to choose between my safe, conventional career, or go for turning my hobby into a business. I chose the latter, but I first had to come to terms with the idea that my life would become so different than the people around me. I was going to be journeying on my own mountain, and there wasn't necessarily going to be an easy route, or one that had been nicely laid out in front of me. What I've come to realize is that I was always on my own mountain, and it was an illusion to think otherwise. I've always been someone that's sought out my own path, and resisted going after the same goals as others.
